| Vesutan Wins, 6-5, Over Sailors | Not everyone stuck through the 29-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.
Though he had a stellar game, Jiro Koda could not prevent his team, the Osaka Sailors, from losing, 6-5, to the Vesutan Bees. Koda was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2. The third-place Bees go to 69-67.
In the bottom of the eighth, Vesutan first baseman Shougo Iwai put his team on top. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit his 8th double of the year. Osaka pitcher Haruki Ogawa served it up. Just like that, the Bees were ahead, 6-5.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Osaka manager Bill Sherrill. "The effort was great."
