The Fukuoka Falcons got great pitching from three-time All-Star Tsuneteru Fujiwara, allowing them to bump off the Vesutan Bees, 2-1. Fujiwara, the winner, moves to 15-12. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 1 walk. Shinpo Yamasaki sewed up the save, his 25th.

The Falcons got a big boost from right fielder Tsuruo Akamine who had a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the first inning off Bees hurler Chiko Abe. It was his 59th RBI of the season and put Fukuoka on top, 1-0.

"Tsuneteru was doing a good job pouring in strikes," said Fukuoka manager Kamlyn Kadota.

With the win, Fukuoka pushed its record to 75-53.
