| Stars Stop Bulls, 3-1 | Nagasaki beat Kobe in a rain-soaked ballgame.
Nagasaki beat Kobe on the strength of starting pitcher Takashi Masuda's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-1. Masato Yamamoto recorded the save for Nagasaki, his 23rd of the season.
In the top of the ninth, Yutaka Abe stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Bulls were trailing 3-1, but had runners on 1st and 2nd. That's when Masato Yamamoto made a terrific pitch and Abe grounded out. Gone was the dream of a Kobe comeback.
With the win over Kobe, the Stars improved to 58-41.
