The rain did not keep Kinboshi and Vesutan from finishing their game.

Kinboshi pitcher Narushi Nagaoka had a large part in his team subduing the Vesutan Bees, 3-1. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. The setback makes Vesutan 55-52.

Kinboshi shortstop Yamahiko Hirata contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a 2-run single. It was his 49th hit of the season and put the Kites ahead, 3-1.

"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Hirata told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
