Kingfishers Lose Again, 5-4, to Bears
The Sapporo Bears and Yokohama Kingfishers obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.

The Sapporo Bears picked up a win at Sapporo Stadium, dropping the Yokohama Kingfishers, 5-4. Katsumasa Hashimoto, who is tied for 9th in the EL with a 6.0 K/9 rate, was the difference-maker. Hashimoto, who is tied for 9th in the EL with a 6.0 K/9 rate, went the distance for Sapporo. He gave up 4 runs on 7 hits.

With Sapporo leading 4-1 in the bottom of the third, Hashimoto hit a curveball from Munenao Shintani for a run-scoring double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Bears ahead, 5-1.

"Katsumasa pounded the strike zone and made good pitches when he needed to," said Sapporo manager Ritsuo Yoshida.
