| Kyoto Gets 5-3 Win | The Kyoto Owls topped the Sapporo Bears, 5-3, in Eastern League action at Sapporo Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Kyoto pitcher and Kakamigahara, Japan, native Kento Okada. Kenshin Kon earned the save for Kyoto, his 15th of the year. The Bears, at 30-49, have lost 5 in a row.
Kyoto used the hitting of Hiroshi Yamashita to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Owls on top, 4-0. For the game, Yamashita had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
