The Kyoto Owls and Sapporo Bears played an exciting game.

Norikazu Takai, who is tied for 4th in the EL in complete games with 3, had a strong outing for the Kyoto Owls against the Sapporo Bears at Owls Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 3-2 win. Kenshin Kon recorded the save for Kyoto, his 10th of the season.

Bungo Arai had a big 2-run home run for the Owls in the bottom of the third inning. With Kyoto leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a slider from 12-year veteran Yamada Yamanaka and punished it. The result was his 12th home run of the season, which put the Owls on top, 3-0.

"Norikazu was locating, throwing all of his pitches," said Kyoto manager Tomoya Nagao. "He did a heck of a job."

Kyoto is now 31-19.
