| Komatsu Pitches 2-0 Shutout for Sapporo Thursday, September 26th , 1963 Sapporo Bears pitcher Arata Komatsu really got it done at Kanagawa Stadium in a 2-0 shutout victory over the Yokohama Kingfishers, shutting them down on 6 hits.
"It was just one of those games where everything went right. I threw a lot of strikes," Komatsu said. "And the pitches they did get to hit, they didn't do anything with them."
The 30-year-old issued 2 walks and had 7 strikeouts in the Bears win.
So far this season, Komatsu has logged a 15-9 record with a 2.56 ERA. He has started 29 games, hurled 225.1 innings and registered 178 strikeouts and 39 walks.
