The Yokohama Kingfishers downed the Sapporo Bears, 6-4, at Kanagawa Stadium. The Kingfishers were led by Kunisada Kimura. Kimura went 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 times. The win puts Yokohama at 48-87.

Yokohama got a knockout punch from Katsuki Kagawa. The pinch hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

Kimura told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.
