 | Shimabukuro Sizzles -- Smokes Bees for 5 Hits Monday, July 8th , 1963 Kinboshi Kites first baseman Sueo Shimabukuro banged out 5 hits, but it was not enough to keep his club from succumbing to the Vesutan Bees, 7-7. He went 5-for-5 and raised his batting average a few points. "If the hits keep coming," an upbeat Shimabukuro said after the game, "the runs will too. And, more importantly, so will the wins." Sueo Shimabukuro singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI triple in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and doubled in the 8th. So far this season, Shimabukuro is batting .266 with 9 home runs, 29 RBIs and 39 runs scored. He has 64 hits in 241 at-bats, 16 walks and a .321 OBP. Shimabukuro has played in 62 games.
