Kyoto Comes up Empty Against Sakata
Monday, October 9th , 1950
Nagasaki's Kyouhei Sakata brought his best stuff to Owls Park today, shutting down and shutting out the Kyoto Owls 3-0. He racked up 6 strikeouts, surrendered 2 hits and issued 5 walks on his way to the victory.

"We barely made him work at all," Kyoto manager Kazuyuki Kamiichi said later. "Nagasaki could probably pitch him again tomorrow if they wanted."

Sakata has made 35 starts, tossed 263.2 innings, struck out 87 batters and walked 94. His record is 21-9 with a 3.21 ERA and he has limited other teams to a .255 batting average.
