Comets Rally to Nose Past Detroit
In a low-scoring contest between the Houston Comets and the Detroit Dynamos, Jay Hunt, who finished 3rd in the FA in saves with 24 in 1971, proved to be the difference. The Houston right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Comets win. Bob Young picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 9-8. Jack Vander Kooi suffered the loss. Joe Barnes sewed up the save, his 2nd.

Jerry Robinson had a direct impact on the outcome. Robinson contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the tenth inning to put Houston up, 3-2.

"We didn't let this one get away," said Robinson.

The winning streak has now reached 6 games for the Comets.
