| Kings Lose Contest, 3-1 | Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Chicago Cougars and Seattle Kings.
The Chicago Cougars locked up a win at Cougars Park, knocking off the Seattle Kings, 3-1. On the mound for Chicago was right-hander Roger Alford. He played a major role in the triumph. Alford got the win, improving to 16-9. He gave up 7 hits and walked 0 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 1 run.
One critical moment came in the top of the ninth, when Chicago bent under pressure but did not break. The score was 3-1, Chicago, with two out. Seattle had the bases loaded. But Pat Davis couldn't get the clutch base hit. Instead, on a full count fastball, he flied out.
The Cougars win now puts them at 63-78.
