| Eastern League Defeats Western League, 6-5 | Although his team came out on the losing end, nobody could deny Michiki Ichikawa's performance in this year's all-star game.
The Western League All-Stars fell to the Eastern League All-Stars by a score of 6-5, but Ichikawa was still named the game's MVP.
"You would have liked to have won the game of course, but being named the MVP is a great honor," he said from his team's dressing room at Nagasaki Prefecture Stadium.
