| Big Day for Nakazawa as Falcons Down Kites, 8-3 | The Fukuoka Falcons trumped the Kinboshi Kites, 8-3, at Konohana Stadium. Fukuoka center fielder Ryokan Nakazawa was terrific. He was 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Sadakazu Minami picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 3 runs on 4 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 1. On the season, he is now 5-5. Rei Suga was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 4 of 5 save opportunities.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Takuo Kanemura? The Fukuoka first baseman had a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put the Falcons on top, 1-0. For the game, Kanemura had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Today was a lot of fun," said Nakazawa.
Fukuoka is now 59-60, while Kinboshi is 72-56.
