Kinboshi and Fukuoka took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.

The Kinboshi Kites withstood an impressive performance by Fukuoka catcher Kazuaki Mukai to defeat the Falcons, 6-3, at Konohana Stadium. Mukai was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Kinboshi reliever Josuke Fujimori snagged the win, upping his record to 9-2. Toshiyoshi Sakata shouldered the loss.

The Kites got a big at-bat from shortstop Ayahito Yamamoto. For the game, Yamamoto was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 24th home run of the season gave Kinboshi a 6-3 lead.

"This kind of win will certainly make our fans happy," Yamamoto told the Kinboshi Chronicle.

Kinboshi goes to 72-55. The win puts them 2½ games up in their division.
