| Bees Thwart Stars, 5-4 | The home crowd had a good time watching the Nagasaki Stars and Vesutan Bees get after it.
The Vesutan Bees had to overcome a big game from Nagasaki third baseman Sakan Inoue to leave Vesutan Stadium with a victory. And they did, winning, 5-4. Inoue went 2-3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Vesutan reliever Tadataka Ohira picked up the win, raising his record to 2-1. Natsuhisa Morinaga was tagged with the loss.
The Bees got a big at-bat from first baseman Shougo Iwai. For the game, Iwai went 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 20th double of the season gave Vesutan a 3-2 lead.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Vesutan manager Jack Fletchings.
Vesutan is now 67-69. Nagasaki is 66-70.
