| Falcons Lose at Home, 5-4 | The Vesutan Bees picked up a win at Fukuoka Stadium, downing the Fukuoka Falcons, 5-4. On the mound for Vesutan was right-hander Tsuneo Oda, who played a pivotal role in the win. The defeat makes Fukuoka 74-53.
Shougo Iwai, who won the Most Valuable Player Award in 1971, helped out the Vesutan cause in the top of the fifth inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the first baseman drove in one run.
"Nice win for us," said Iwai. "Now we'll go after the next one."
