The Vesutan Bees rode a solid performance from 26-year-old starting pitcher Genjo Fujii to a win, beating the Kinboshi Kites, 4-2, at Fukuoka Stadium. The win puts Vesutan at 43-68.

Vesutan got a knockout punch from Kazukuni Morinaga. The pinch hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"Genjo gave us a heck of an effort," said Vesutan manager Jim Harper.
