| Osaka Stymied by Kobe, 1-0 | The Kobe Bulls claimed a close win over the Osaka Sailors, due in large part to Bill O'Grady. The Kobe right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 1-0 win. O'Grady picked up the win for Kobe, going 7 innings. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 8-9. Genichi Tsukamoto closed the game out for Kobe, earning his 1st save.
Early in the game, center fielder Yutaka Abe had a solo home run for Kobe. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Bulls on top, 1-0.
"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Abe told a Kobe Observer reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
Kobe, at 36-74, occupies last place in the Western League.
