| Stars Victorious at Kinboshi, 5-2 | A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Nagasaki Stars and Kinboshi Kites.
Shinsaku Shiraishi, who is tied for 10th in the WL in complete games with 7, had a strong outing for the Nagasaki Stars against the Kinboshi Kites at Konohana Stadium. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 5-2 win. Tetsushi Kondo earned his 14th save, after closing out the game.
Nagasaki used a clutch at-bat from Tatsuhiko Ueda to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Stars ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Shinsaku was able to locate to both sides, up and down," said Nagasaki manager Okura Ichimura.
Today's win puts Nagasaki at 49-67, while Kinboshi falls to 63-54.
