Bees Handle Osaka, Snag 2-1 Win
The Osaka Sailors and Vesutan Bees provided some drama for the home crowd.

Vesutan starter Bill Knox put a stranglehold on the Osaka offense. The right-hander had complete command of his changeup in leading the Bees to a 2-1 win. In 7 innings, Knox surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Kiyoshi Inouye collected save number 18.

The Bees got a big at-bat from left fielder Kyozo Omori. For the game, Omori went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 11th home run of the season gave Vesutan a 2-0 lead.

"Runs were at a premium," said Vesutan manager Jack Fletchings.

The win elevated the Bees to 58-57.
