| Bees Score Late, Stun Stars, 3-1 | In a low-scoring contest between the Vesutan Bees and the Nagasaki Stars, Bill Knox was the X factor. The Vesutan right-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. Vesutan reliever Toshimichi Yamamoto picked up the win, upping his record to 3-5. Yoshiharu Fujitate was saddled with the loss. With the win, Vesutan pushed its record to 55-51.
Keiji Itoh drove in one run for Vesutan. The 22-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch off Yoshiharu Fujitate. It was his 1st RBI of the season.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Nagasaki skipper Okura Ichimura, "and it cost us."
