| Bulls Beaten, 7-6, by Kinboshi | The Kinboshi Kites stopped the Kobe Bulls, 7-6, at Matsunoki Stadium. The Kites got a big game from Ayahito Yamamoto, who was 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Kinboshi raised its record to 51-41 with the win.
The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Kitahachi Masuda came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Kobe pitcher Yasuhiko Hidaka, he hit a 1-0 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Kinboshi on top, 6-5.
"At the end of the day, wins and losses are really the only thing that matters," said Masuda.
