| Bees Suffer 8-1 Road Loss | The exploits of shortstop Ayahito Yamamoto, who finished 3rd in the WL in doubles with 21 in 1952, helped the Kinboshi Kites defeat the Vesutan Bees, 8-1. Yamamoto went 4 for 5 with 4 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Ryusuke Maeda, the winning pitcher, improved to 9-10. He pitched 7.1 innings, giving up 5 hits and 1 run, while striking out 3 and walking 2. Kinboshi now has a record of 49-45 with the win.
The Kites picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said Yamamoto.
