| Bees Bridle Kites, 4-2 | Vesutan beat Kinboshi in a rain-soaked ballgame.
The Vesutan Bees rode a solid performance from 24-year-old starting pitcher Chiko Abe to a win, beating the Kinboshi Kites, 4-2, at Vesutan Stadium. Toshimichi Yamamoto was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 2 save opportunities.
Hidetsugu Ikegami had a big run-scoring double for the Bees in the bottom of the third inning. With Vesutan leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Kyuso Ikeda, who is tied for 10th in the WL in quality starts with 12, and swatted a double to right. It was his 12th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bees ahead, 2-0.
"We're playing like we're capable of," said Vesutan manager Jack Fletchings.
Vesutan has won 4 straight games.
