| Late Rally Earns Kobe 2-1 Win | The Kobe Bulls earned a close win over the Osaka Sailors, thanks in part to Masali Tabata. The Kobe right-hander, who is tied for 2nd in the WL in saves with 11, played a key role in the 2-1 victory. Hironobu Takaoka finished to wrap up his 3rd save. The 'W' lifts Kobe's record to 28-57.
Kobe used the timely hitting of Yasukatsu Arakawa to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bulls on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"They played a better game than we did," said Osaka skipper Motoshige Aoki.
