| Bees, Ikegami Blast Sailors, 11-1 | The skies opened up and the rain fell at Kotei Stadium.
The Vesutan Bees put together a convincing win at Kotei Stadium, defeating the Osaka Sailors, 11-1. Hidetsugu Ikegami was one of the hitting stars. He was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for Vesutan. With the win, Vesutan raised its record to 47-39.
Vesutan third baseman Kichiro Okano contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the first. With two down, he hit a splitter to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 18th hit of the season and put the Bees ahead, 2-0.
"Nothing to write home about," Osaka manager Bill Sherrill said, when asked afterward about the game.
