| Bulls Top Kites, 5-3 | The Kobe Bulls beat the Kinboshi Kites, 5-3, at Konohana Stadium. Yasukatsu Arakawa, who finished 4th in the WL in hits with 146 in 1951, starred for Kobe. He went 1-1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Tatsuharu Oto, the winning pitcher, is now 4-7. He went 8.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 10 hits, while fanning 7 and walking 1. Masali Tabata closed the game out for Kobe, earning his 11th save.
In the top of the sixth, Arakawa put his team in front with his 3rd home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which came against Mirai Watanabe, made it 5-1, Kobe.
"Banging out wins is what it's all about," said Arakawa.
Yes, it was a win for Kobe; but their 24-56 record is still nothing to boast about.
