| Stars Earn 7-3 Home Win | The home crowd came to cheer on their first-place Nagasaki Stars.
The Nagasaki Stars topped the Kinboshi Kites, 7-3, at Nagasaki Prefecture Stadium. Nagasaki catcher William Hancock was a spark plug for the offense. He went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Nagasaki starter Akimasa Murakami was credited with the win after throwing 117 pitches over 8 innings. His record now stands at 9-3.
With Nagasaki leading 3-1 in the bottom of the third, Hancock hit a fastball from Gene Walker for a 2-run double. It was his 11th double of the season and put the Stars ahead, 5-1.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Nagasaki manager Eddie Roseman.
The Stars have now won 4 straight.
