The Vesutan Bees took Kobe pitcher Tatsuharu Oto's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Matsunoki Stadium. The final score had Vesutan getting past the Bulls, 2-1. Oto went 9 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 3. Kiyoshi Inouye collected his 11th save. With the win, the Bees have a record of 38-34.

Tokugawa Ito came through with a big-time hit for Vesutan. The second baseman smacked a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Clutch hitting plus clutch pitching usually equals a win," said Ito.
