| Stars Victorious at Kinboshi, 8-6 | Toki Kobayashi did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Kinboshi Kites from being beaten, 8-6, to the Nagasaki Stars at Konohana Stadium. Kobayashi was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Nishiki Teshima, credited with the save, is now 8 for 9 in save opportunities. With the win, Nagasaki upped its record to 38-30.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Sakan Inoue? The Nagasaki third baseman had a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Stars on top, 5-3. For the game, Inoue had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Inoue, "one at-bat at a time." | |
