| Bees Sneak Past Falcons, 3-2 | Both teams had their chances, but the Vesutan Bees eventually prevailed.
Fukuoka got a valiant performance from pitcher Sadakazu Minami, but it wasn't enough to beat the Vesutan Bees. Vesutan won the game, 3-2. Minami threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Sadatake Suzuki, who is tied for 9th in the WL in holds with 1, was the winner. He's now 2-4. The loser was Kijuro Fukushima.
Shougo Iwai, who finished 2nd in the WL in RBI with 87 in 1960, aided the Vesutan cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth. For the game, the first baseman drove in one run.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Vesutan manager Jim Harper.
The Bees raised their record to 22-39.
