| Bees Prevail, 3-1, Over Kinboshi | Wet weather did not postpone the Vesutan-Kinboshi ballgame.
The Vesutan Bees topped the Kinboshi Kites, 3-1, in Western League action at Vesutan Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Vesutan pitcher and Sanda, Japan, native Masatoshi Sakai. In 7 innings, Sakai surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Kiyoshi Inouye notched his 7th save in 12 chances.
Vesutan first baseman Shougo Iwai contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a slider to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 59th hit of the season and put the Bees ahead, 3-1.
Iwai called the win "a collective effort."
Vesutan now has a record of 32-30 with the win.
