| On Road, Vesutan Drops Nagasaki, 7-4 | Spirited fans greeted the Nagasaki Stars for their clash with the Vesutan Bees.
The Vesutan Bees knocked off the Nagasaki Stars, 7-4, in Western League action at Nagasaki Prefecture Stadium. Vesutan pitcher and Kashihara, Japan, native Tsuneo Oda had an outstanding performance. Kiyoshi Inouye snagged the win in relief. He goes to 6-3 on the season. Yoshiharu Fujitate suffered the loss. Shungo Yasuda earned the save, his 1st, for the Bees.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Shougo Iwai? The Vesutan first baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bees on top, 7-4. For the game, Iwai had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"Tsuneo did a nice job," said Bees manager Jack Fletchings.
The Bees now have a record of 31-30.
