| Sailors Win at Kinboshi, 7-1 | Conditions were not ideal but Osaka and Kinboshi were able to put their game in the books.
The Osaka Sailors picked up a win at Konohana Stadium, topping the Kinboshi Kites, 7-1. On the mound for Osaka was left-hander Atsuhiro Smith. He played a principal role in the triumph. The Sailors go to 19-29 with the win.
The Sailors benefited from an error in the top of the first inning. Osaka was leading 1-0 when Zenpei Miyamoto hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put Osaka in front, 3-0.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Miyamoto told the Osaka Observer.
