| Fukuoka Drops Another One, 5-4 | The Vesutan Bees had to overcome a fine effort from Fukuoka pitcher Tsuneteru Fujiwara to win, 5-4, at Vesutan Stadium. Fujiwara went 8 innings and allowed 5 runs. The slumping Falcons have lost 6 straight.
Akinari Nakamura had a big 2-run home run for the Bees in the bottom of the first inning. With Vesutan leading 3-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a cutter from three-time All-Star Tsuneteru Fujiwara and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Bees on top, 5-0.
In postgame remarks, Nakamura said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."
