| Bulls Topple Kites, 2-1 | The Kobe Bulls and Kinboshi Kites played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
Tatsuharu Oto, who led the WL in wins with 17 in 1964, propelled his team to victory over the Kinboshi Kites. The final score was 2-1, Kobe. In 6 innings, Oto surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 0. He allowed no runs. The save was credited to Shinya Kawakami, his 3rd.
Kobe center fielder Jouta Hayashida helped the Bulls go up, 2-0, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Hayashida hit a 2-run single off Kinboshi pitcher Saimei Hayashida.
"The Bulls earned it," said Kinboshi manager Frank Moore. "Hats off to them."
The loss makes Kinboshi 23-23.
