| Falcons Popped by Kites, 6-4 | Kinboshi and Fukuoka duked it out and the Kites came out victorious.
In the 6-4 Kinboshi win over Fukuoka, the impact of Ayahito Yamamoto was substantial. Yamamoto, who finished 2nd in the WL in triples with 10 in 1953, went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times. Ryusuke Maeda, the winning pitcher, improved to 3-5. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 6 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 3.
Kinboshi took the lead, 4-3, on Kitahachi Masuda's 2nd home run of the season. The solo home run came off Fukuoka pitcher Minoru Yamamoto in the bottom of the seventh.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Masuda said.
The Kites are now 21-22, while the Falcons fall to 26-15.
