| Falcons Lose, 6-3, as Kites Rally | Kinboshi pitcher John Moss had a large part in his team beating the Fukuoka Falcons, 6-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Matoba Miwa notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 1-0. Kinboshi, at 23-21, occupies third place in the Western League.
Tokyo, Japan-born Yamahiko Hirata came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the eighth, with the bases loaded and the Kites trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single to left to put Kinboshi on top.
"Winning is the only objective," said Moss after the game.
