| Sailors Cut Down Bulls, 6-3 | A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Osaka Sailors and Kobe Bulls.
Natsuhiko Sugiura, who is tied for 8th in the WL in quality starts with 5, propelled his team to victory over the Kobe Bulls. The final score was 6-3, Osaka. Sugiura got the win, improving to 5-3. He gave up 3 hits and walked 1 over 7.1 innings. He allowed 2 runs.
In the top of the first, the Sailors took the lead, 3-0, when 22-year old catcher Zenpei Miyamoto reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run.
"When you have a good rhythm and good flow, it's nice to just go out there and pound the strike zone with confidence," said Sugiura.
The Sailors move to 18-18 with the win, while the Bulls drop to 13-28.
