| Kurosawa Slugs 3 Homers, Kites Get 7-4 Win | Kinboshi catcher Korenaga Kurosawa had 5 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Vesutan Bees, 7-4. Wen-bin Ono earned the win to go to 6-1. He allowed 4 runs on 5 hits, with 4 walks and 3 strikeouts in 9 innings of work. At 20-20, the Kites claim 4th place in the Western League.
Fusao Tokunaga had a big 2-run home run for the Kites in the bottom of the first inning. With Kinboshi trailing 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from four-time All-Star Hank Walker and punished it. The result was his 13th home run of the season, which put the Kites on top, 2-1.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Tokunaga told the Kinboshi Daily. "It's as simple as that."
