| Bees Thwart Sailors, 5-3 | Dedicated fans weathered the storm to watch their beloved Bees beat the Sailors.
Osaka third baseman Bunmei Matsumura was sensational. He went 2-2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Vesutan beat the Sailors, 5-3. Hirokatsu Funakoshi got credit for the save for Vesutan. It was his 1st of the year.
Vesutan pitcher Tadaatsu Sunada contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a slider to left field for a 2-run single. It was his 1st hit of the season and put the Bees ahead, 4-2.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Sunada.
The Bees raised their record to 11-25.
