Falcons Win, Akamine goes 3-for-4
The Fukuoka Falcons saddled the Vesutan Bees with a loss at Fukuoka Stadium. The final score was 11-6. Tsuruo Akamine was 3 for 4, including 2 singles and 1 home run. The Fukuoka right fielder scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Fukuoka pitcher Iwao Yamamoto earned the win, hiking his record to 4-2. Tsuneo Oda suffered the loss. The defeat makes Vesutan 17-21.

The Bees had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Falcons going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 33-year old third baseman Toshifumi Shibuya came to the plate. Shibuya hit a solo home run on a 1-2 knuckle curve from Vesutan hurler Tsuneo Oda. It was Shibuya's 4th home run of the year.

Fukuoka manager Kamlyn Kadota was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.
