The Kinboshi Kites beat the Kobe Bulls, 7-3, at Konohana Stadium. Kinboshi shortstop Yamahiko Hirata had an outstanding performance. He was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Kinboshi, at 17-18, occupies 4th place in the Western League.

An inflection point occurred with one out in the bottom of the fifth. That's when Kites pitcher Wen-bin Ono hit a fastball from Yoshimatsu Yamamura for a 2-run single. Just like that, Kinboshi was up, 3-2.

"Nice win for us," said Ono. "Now we'll go after the next one."
