| Bulls Suffer 5-2 Road Loss | Not everyone stuck through the 17-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.
The Kinboshi Kites topped the Kobe Bulls, 5-2, in Western League action at Konohana Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Kinboshi pitcher Hironobu Takaoka. Takaoka yielded 2 runs over 8.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 2-0. The save went to Josuke Fujimori, number 5 for him.
The Kites got a big at-bat from shortstop Ayahito Yamamoto. For the game, Yamamoto was 3-4 with a triple and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Kinboshi a 4-1 lead.
"It's so much easier when you throw good pitches," said Takaoka.
The win elevated the Kites to 20-9.
