| Falcons Rough Up Kites, 8-3 | Good production from first baseman Harl Smith helped the Fukuoka Falcons topple the Kinboshi Kites, 8-3. Smith went 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Falcons. The second-place Falcons go to 18-11.
Smith contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Fukuoka in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, Smith took a fastball from Ryusuke Maeda and stroked the home run to right. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Falcons to leap in front, 3-1.
"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Smith told the Fukuoka Observer.
