| Kites Win at Fukuoka, 8-3 | Kites center fielder Taira Kanazawa left his mark on his team's 8-3 win over the Fukuoka Falcons. Kanazawa, who finished 2nd in the WL in batting average with .312 in 1972, went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for Kinboshi in the contest. The Kites now own a record of 16-14.
Kinboshi used the hitting of Munemitsu Kawasaki to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put the Kites on top, 2-0. For the game, Kawasaki had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Put the ball in play and good things will happen," said Kanazawa.
