| Bulls Upend Bees, 5-2 | Shinpei Abe made an impact in the 5-2 Kobe win over Vesutan. Abe, who finished 4th in the WL in batting average with .319 last year, was 4-5 with a triple and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Shiroku Terada earned his 6th save, after closing out the game. Vesutan, at 7-19, is off to a poor start in 1963.
In the top of the first, Abe had a run-scoring triple for Kobe. It was his 3rd triple of the season and put the Bulls on top, 1-0.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Kobe manager Joe Davis.
