| Shimabukuro Helps Kinboshi Cruise to 12-3 Win | The game between Kinboshi and Vesutan is in the books, despite a little rain.
The 12-3 Kinboshi win over Vesutan was due in large part to Sueo Shimabukuro. The Kites first baseman went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Ienari Takagi picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Teiljo Okamoto, who finished 3rd in the WL in saves with 17 in 1960, was tagged with the loss.
Hideyuki Kitamura's at-bat in the bottom of the fifth inning was a big one for Kinboshi. Coming to bat with no one out, runners on 1st and 2nd and Kinboshi trailing 3-2, the third baseman hit a run-scoring single.
"What we get, we earn," Kitamura told the Kinboshi Chronicle.
The Bees fall to 5-13 and continue their unimpressive start to the 1963 season.
