| Kites Beat Falcons, 6-5 | The Kinboshi Kites beat the Fukuoka Falcons, 6-5, at Konohana Stadium. The Kites got a fine performance from third baseman Fumisato Muramoto, who was 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. Keiji Tamura, who finished 4th in the WL in ERA with 2.49 in 1968, was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed 5 runs on 11 hits, with 3 walks and 1 strikeout. The Kites, with just their 5th win in 17 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
Muramoto had a consequential at-bat in the bottom of the first for the Kites. Coming up with the bases loaded and Kinboshi trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run single.
