| Losing Streak Continues for Kites with 5-2 Loss to Falcons | The Fukuoka Falcons picked up a win at Konohana Stadium, downing the Kinboshi Kites, 5-2. On the mound for Fukuoka was left-hander Isaburo Muraoka, who played a pivotal role in the win. In 8 innings, Muraoka surrendered 10 hits, while striking out 0 and walking 6. He allowed 2 runs. The win lifts Fukuoka to a record of 11-5.
In the top of the seventh, Fukuoka right fielder Tsuruo Akamine had a run-producing at-bat. Facing Kinboshi hurler Tenshou Hirata, Akamine drew a walk, driving in 1 run. That made the score 4-2, Fukuoka. For the day, Akamine was 1 for 4 with a triple and a walk.
"We haven't been playing to the level we want to play," said Kinboshi manager Frank Moore.
