| Kites Improve to 8-6 with 7-0 Win | Kinboshi turned a good effort from starter Gene Walker into a win over the Fukuoka Falcons at Konohana Stadium. The Kites won the game, 7-0. The winning pitcher was Walker, now 2-1. He tossed 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 6. The Falcons drop to 7-7 and continue their mediocre start to the 1962 season.
The Kites got a big at-bat from right fielder Mitsuyasu Takeno. For the game, Takeno went 2 for 4 with a triple and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 2nd triple of the season gave Kinboshi a 2-0 lead.
"If we keep hitting the ball well, the wins will pile up," said Kinboshi skipper Kaita Kurosawa.
