| Kites Rally For Late Win Over Sailors | Osaka got a valiant performance from pitcher Kinnosuke Shimabukuro, but it wasn't enough to beat the Kinboshi Kites. Kinboshi won the game, 5-3. Shimabukuro threw 7.0 innings allowing 2 runs for the losing team. Osaka now is 2-5.
Kinboshi needed the clutch hitting of Fumisato Muramoto to seal the deal. The third baseman swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Kites on top, 5-3. For the game, Muramoto had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We had situations where we should have got some runs in, but we didn't get the runs in," said losing manager Bill Sherrill.
