| Kites Jolt Bees, 3-1, with Late Rally | Vesutan got a valiant performance from pitcher Bill O'Grady, but it wasn't enough to beat the Kinboshi Kites. Kinboshi won the game, 3-1. O'Grady threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Teruhiko Igarashi was called on to finish, recording his 1st save. Kinboshi, now 3-0, is setting the league on fire so far.
Kinboshi used a timely hit from Sakan Hashizume to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Kites ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a difference-maker.
"Winning is contagious," said Hashizume. "We're looking forward to the next game."
