Fans of the Vesutan Bees who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Vesutan win over the visiting Kinboshi Kites, 6-4. Masatoshi Sakai started for the home team against Saimei Hayashida. Saimei Hayashida earned accolades for his performance. Vesutan reliever Kiyoshi Inouye picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Matoba Miwa was tagged with the loss.

Vesutan took the lead, 6-3, on Kichiro Okano's 1st home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Kinboshi pitcher Matoba Miwa in the bottom of the eighth.

"It feels good to get this one," Okano told the Vesutan Gazette.
